When will I receive my order and when will I be charged?
We strive to keep most colors and lengths in stock. Order processing takes between 15-20 days. If it will take longer, we will contact you. We will NOT charge your credit card until your order is ready to ship.

Where do you get your raw rope?
Monk uses only the finest organically grown hemp rope.

How environmentally friendly is your rope?
Whenever possible, our rope is obtained from fair trade producers and finished using animal free/ vegan friendly oils and dyes. We take our commitment a step further and recycle the waste materials from our conditioning process for use in eco friendly, "green" building projects around the region.

The color is amazing! What kind of dye do you use?
We use a professional grade fiber reactive dye to create brilliant color-fast ropes that will retain their amazing color without masking the unique smell and feel of hemp.

How long does it take?
From start to finish, it takes about a week to properly condition a piece of rope.

How strong is the rope?
By its nature, hemp is an amazingly strong fiber. However, due to the fact that it is a natural fiber there is no official load rating for hemp. Conditioning rope will reduce the fiber's strength as will general use. Rope practitioners will tell you that use, experience, and judgment are your best guides when working with hemp.

How does the rope age?
High quality hemp rope is much like a good pair of blue jeans. It starts out soft, yet slightly stiff to the touch and will become softer and suppler with every use. As you work with the rope, the fibers will relax more and it will absorb the body oils of your partner, becoming even softer until it feels like a second skin.

Why 10, 15, 30 and 50 foot lengths?
Historically, Japanese bondage was done with only 21 foot lengths of rope. As the art form migrated to the West, practitioners found that a longer length was needed for western body shapes. Over the years we have expanded our rope lengths to accommodate the wide variety of customers and their play styles.

That's great, but I want a different length?
Custom lengths and colors are available. Contact the Monk for prices.

How are the ends finished?
4MM, 6MM and 8MM wide sections are offered with whipped ends. Wall knots are available upon special request. Here's some more detail.

Can I get a custom color?
Definitely! We love custom colors, prices start at 1.50 per foot with a 100-foot minimum order. Color matching is a time consuming process, please allow extra time for processing and testing. Contact the Monk for prices.

Can I get a sample?
Yes! For only $2 we'll send you a fully conditioned sample pack that contains lengths of all our ropes and colors including our exotics line of rope.

Can I wash my rope?
Yes, place the rope in an old pillowcase. Wash ropes separately in your washing machine on gentle cycle using color-safe bleach - use care, as colors may bleed. Hang rope in loose coils to dry (4 days). Once dry, re-oil with a small quantity of scent free baby oil or high quality mineral oil and let dry for two more days before use.

I have sensitive skin or might be allergic to hemp, what can I do?
A common allergic reaction from hemp bondage rope is from the oils used. Our rope is process with an allergen free, vegan friendly oil. How will my rope be shipped?
All shipments are discreetly packaged in padded envelopes or USPS supplied packaging. Our name appears as "TTM" on the return address. Packaging makes no mention of the nature of the contents, except when required by international customs regulations and in such cases we list the contents as "hemp fiber rope".

Tariffs on international orders are high in my country; will you fib on the customs form for me?
Falsifying customs documents is a crime. Please do not ask us to do so.

What is TwistedMonk's privacy policy?
Your privacy is VERY IMPORTANT to us. We will NEVER sell, rent or give out any information about you or your order to any company or individual. When placing an order with us, no person information is stored on a public web server.

Is my order secure?
We use industry standard 1024 bit SSL encryption. No personal credit card information is stored on public web servers. Your credit card information is considered highly confidential information, and any paperwork with the number not kept for our records will be shredded.

Do you ship internationally?
We ship all over the world via flat rate United States Postal Service/EMS.

All orders, regardless of size, to addresses in Canada and Mexico are just $25.00. All other countries, just $40. International orders take between 6-11 days to arrive in the country in question after leaving our shop. After that, it is up to the local customs officials in your country to determine how long the item stays in customs, if it will be subject to quarantine or what you will be charged. The tariff rates vary from country to country and shipment to shipment, twistedmonk.com has no control over this step of the order process and cannot track, expedite or change your order once it has entered your country. On the plus side, we have never had a shipment refused or confiscated in the 5 years and hundreds of packages that we have shipped overseas.

All international parcels are boxed in generic, USPS provided packaging. The contents are listed as “Sterilized Hemp Fiber Rope”
