Contrary to popular assumption, owning a bondage rope company does not mean my kit is all fresh rope. Much like the cobbler’s children not getting new shoes, Monk has been using the same rope kit for years and years. The rope pictures are from the last full, complete “monk’s kit” I built for my personal and professional use… over 15 years ago.
This rope has served me well across countless cabaret stages, dungeon floors, and 2 trips to Burning Man! Washed, re-oiled and reused again and again. Much of the original kit has been lost, either to misadventure or gifted to those it touched. I still use this kit. In fact, at the time of writing this, I used this piece of hemp in a suspension scene last Saturday night.
If the act of sharing rope with another is to wrap them in your intent and desire, to literally take a piece of fiber and connect with another on a deeper level, this rope does that and more. As my go-to rope for a chest harness, the soft welcoming coils lay my intent— my story, my very history— across the heart of my partner.
