We recommend in-person education whenever possible. We endorse the following instructors and groups as providing excellent workshops that are welcoming and support our ethics and ideals.

Midori offers a wide array of rope bondage workshops, with the Rope Dojo being one of our favorites.

Midori is a San Francisco based sexuality educator and champion for sensual living. She provides fun practical classes for all people. We are proud to offer two rope kits specially curated by Midori, as well as her book The Seductive Art of Japanese Bondage.

Seattle Shibari is dedicated to bringing safe, sensual, and beautiful rope bondage to the Pacific Northwest community.

They offer instruction in Shibari and other bondage-related topics, and are available for public & private performance, photoshoot rigging, and consultation.

Remedial Ropes, while not a source of in-person education, is an invaluable resource for rope bondage safety information. We are proud to include their Quick Info For Aspiring Bondage Bottoms/Tops cards with every order.

Remedial Ropes is devoted to risk awareness-based education for new, experienced and aspiring rope tops and bottoms, with articles ranging from very beginner (perfect if your bondage skills begin and end with tying your shoes) to advanced (including busting some extremely common myths about bondage safety).

Founded in 2008, Suspended Animation is dedicated to the kinetic art of full suspension rope bondage. Suspended Animation teaches, performs, and demonstrates suspension bondage in Seattle and elsewhere, and run a large Burning Man camp.

Suspended Animation is here to see how much fun one can have without getting arrested, and to make world-class kink accessible to as many people as possible. Not big fans of labels, Suspended Animation's style can probably be loosely described as "West Coast Fusion" with bondage that tends to be highly dynamic, engaged, and informal.

Hitchin' Bitches is a group for female riggers and rope tops that started in late 2011 in London. It began to create a safe space for women who are into to rope, a space to learn and to share in. Despite ropes getting more and popular, it is common to see mostly men tying women and not so much of the female rope tops. Hitchin' Bitches founders did not feel this reflected the reality in which we live- where women tie, have skills and knowledge, where men are tied by women, and so on.

Hitchin' Bitches chapters, which are worldwide, welcome all women who live full time as women and FTM, genderqueer and intersexed persons who feel that they still have links to women's communities.
