As I go into my 21st holiday season, supplying the best bondage rope in the biz to the masses, I’m reflecting on how many things have changed and how many have stayed the same.
That first xmas, it was just me and a few friends and family bribed with good food and good company to get the orders out the door. My hands were sore from whipping and raw from hemp processing, but my heart was full knowing I was shipping out orgasms waiting to happen.
Now, I am still surrounded by family and friends, but Twisted Monk has grown so much with your support, dear reader, that I get to give them all fat paychecks for the blood, sweat, tears, and love they put into hand-making and processing your orders.
We’ve always been a hemp house, but now, with an expanding crew and fresh skill sets, our fiber offerings have multiplied. Early on, we also added specialty steel to our catalog, focusing on innovation and quality - this Christmas we have brand new hardware to add that I designed in collaboration with local artisans, and we are working hard to make sure it is the best and safest on the market.
My hands aren’t the only ones a bit sore from the busy season anymore, and the Twisted Monk Crew has also been reflecting on their contributions to joy, connection, and healthy sexual exploration. Here’s what they had to say:
Everybody wakes up grumpy and doesn’t want to go to work some days, myself included, but all I have to do to think myself out of that negative head space is just ponder the fact my job is MAKING BONDAGE ROPE. I just can’t help but smile at the thought of it. I’m so lucky to love my job. When I touch a piece of rope, I know I’m sending it off with the intentions of love and pleasure, and damn is that a satisfying thought every time.

I like working with a company that matches my ethics and treats me well. This is the first place I’ve worked that really values my input and labor, and I’m not young. It makes me want to take ownership of my work.
- TTM Production Manager
I choose to work for TTM because I have confidence in my ability to make things the best they can possibly be here. I can transfer my mind, body, and spirit into every step of the process, knowing my labor is going to the healing and pleasure of others.
