November Color Of The Month: Tannenbaum
We're reprising our incredibly popular Tannenbaum rope, and we'll be making it through the entire month of November!
Tannenbaum is our world-famous 6mm hemp, tightly spun in a Z-twist style, dyed to a lovely rich shade of green reminiscent of holiday wreaths and Douglas Fir boughs (or British racing cars).
10% of proceeds from Tannenbaum will be donated to two charities: Mary's Place and the Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh's Our Victims of Terror Fund.

Change to 6mm hemp ropes and production timelines
We are currently experiencing an impact to our raw materials which effects our 6mm hemp ropes. The machine which spins our hemp ropes recently broke beyond repair and required outright replacement. Unfortunately this new machine currently is not producing rope which meets our standards of quality and safety.
We have secured an alternate supply which, while being made of a superior quality hemp than was previously available, is spun in the reverse from our traditional hemp ropes- a counter-clockwise "Z-twist" rather than our usual clockwise "S-twist" (our POSH, Cotton, and Bavarian Blonde ropes are and have always been Z-twist). This change does not impact the color, function, performance, or safety but does mean it will not visually match the spin of our previous product.
This is a temporary change while our supplier's machinery is retooled to produce these higher quality ropes in our traditional S-twist, however we do not have an exact timeline for this. Note that this is currently only effecting our standard stock 6mm hemp ropes. All other ropes, including 4mm and 8mm hemp ropes, are unaffected.
Please note that due to these changes, combined with unseasonably high volume, some orders are taking a few days over our usual 10 business days for production.
Customers with existing orders will be contacted directly regarding next steps. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
"Color" Of The Month: Relaxed Hemp Prototype
In lieu of a custom color for September, we have a prototype rope we're considering adding to our Exotics line! This is your opportunity to be part of The Twisted Monk's beta-testing team and influence a new rope option- Relaxed Hemp!
This organic hemp rope features triple-combed fibers and a longer more loose-lay spin, similar to that of a hand-laid rope. This results in a softer rope with a gentler hand and smoother finish. The finely milled base fibers give this rope an on-skin feel falling nicely between that of comfy cotton and typical hemp. Where our standard hemp is like a crisp new pair of selvage denim jeans, Relaxed Hemp is a comfy pair perfectly broken in.
Relaxed Hemp prototype rope is available now in extremely limited quantities, being made available at a introductory reduced price.
10% of proceeds from Relaxed Hemp will be donated to Seattle's Alley Cat Project.
Labor Day is Monday September 3rd
We will be closed on Monday, September 3rd in observance of Labor Day.
The website will remain open for business and you are still more than welcome to make purchases. Orders and email received during this time will begin processing when we return on Tuesday, September 4th.
Those who receive our newsletter can expect to see it arrive on or just after the holiday with information about the special opportunity happening in lieu of Color Of The Month (which will launch later in the week, time and date details will be in the newsletter).
A quick note about domestic shipping addresses
In a move to help protect your privacy and reduce identity theft, the United States Postal Service (USPS) has recently increased their stringency with regard to addressee names. The USPS requires that the name listed as the recipient on a parcel match their records for occupancy in order to complete delivery. Parcels whose recipient name does not match may be (and recently have been) labeled as "undeliverable" and returned to sender.
